Newsflash: Conservatives have higher levels of racial bias

This is supposed to be a surprise?

Well, not really.
"If anyone in Washington is skeptical about these findings, they are in denial," [a Stanford researcher] said. "We have 50 years of evidence that racial prejudice predicts voting. Republicans are supported by whites with prejudice against blacks. If people say, 'This takes me aback,' they are ignoring a huge volume of research."

(And I suppose my headline, while probably technically true, really ought to be the other way around - that is, it's really that people who are biased become Republicans/Conservatives, not that all Republicans are biased. But I'm not changin' it because it sounds better the way it is.)
